Piedras Negras Dental Clinic
Teeth whitening
Coffee, tea, wine and the years slowly dim your smile. A professional whitening brings its brightness back — without harming your enamel.
Professional teeth whitening uses a clinical-grade brightening gel that breaks down the pigment molecules built up in your enamel and dentin. Unlike drugstore strips or 'whitening' toothpastes, the concentration, timing and gum protection are controlled by the doctor.
The result: visibly brighter teeth — usually 2 to 6 shades — in one or two sessions, with a comfortable procedure that doesn't wear down the tooth.

What does the procedure look like?
What does the procedure look like?
Shade assessment
We record your starting tooth color with a shade guide and confirm your gums and enamel are healthy for the procedure.
Gum protection
We isolate and protect your gums and lips with a special barrier. Only the enamel comes in contact with the gel.
Gel application
We apply the brightening gel in controlled cycles, removing it and checking the shade progress after each one.
Results & aftercare
We compare the final shade with your starting point and give you instructions to make the result last as long as possible.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
Does whitening damage your teeth?
Done professionally, no. The gel acts on pigments, not on the tooth's structure. The sensitivity some patients feel is temporary and fades within a day or two.
How long does the result last?
Between 1 and 3 years, depending on your habits. Limiting coffee, red wine and tobacco — and keeping up with your cleanings — makes the effect last much longer.
Does it work on fillings or crowns?
No — the gel only brightens natural teeth. If you have visible restorations, the doctor will plan the right order: whiten first, then match the restorations to your new shade.
